Review of a Copyright Notice

After receiving a sufficiently complete notice, Pilume may:

Remove, replace, edit, or disable access to the material.

Take any other action considered appropriate under applicable law.

Submitting a notice does not guarantee immediate removal or a particular outcome.

The time required to review a notice may depend on its complexity, the information provided, and whether additional clarification is required.

Notification to the Affected Party

Where appropriate and legally permitted, Pilume may provide the person responsible for the disputed content with:

A copy or summary of the complaint.
The identity of the complainant.
The relevant contact information.
The material and URL identified in the complaint.
Instructions for submitting a response or counter-notification.

Counter-Notification

A person whose material has been removed or disabled because of a copyright complaint may submit a written counter-notification when they genuinely believe that the removal resulted from a mistake or misidentification.

A counter-notification should include:

2. Statement of Good-Faith Belief

4. Jurisdiction and Service Statement

Action Following a Counter-Notification

After receiving a complete counter-notification, Pilume may:

Wait for evidence that formal legal proceedings have been started.
Take another action permitted by applicable law.

Where the formal U.S. DMCA procedure applies, material may be restored within the period provided by applicable law unless the original complainant informs the relevant service provider that legal action has been filed.

Pilume does not guarantee that content will be restored after a counter-notification.

Repeat Copyright Infringement

Pilume may restrict or terminate access, contributor privileges, submission rights, or other involvement of a person who repeatedly submits copyright-infringing content.

Relevant factors may include:

The number of valid complaints.
The seriousness of the alleged infringement.
The person’s response to previous notices.
Evidence of repeated or intentional misuse.
Applicable legal requirements.
The reliability and completeness of the complaints.

Guest Posts and Contributor Content

Anyone submitting an article, image, document, quotation, screenshot, code example, or other material to Pilume must have the necessary rights and permissions.
